   “Black Cat” has an amazingly expressive and beautifully detailed face! I know Folkmanis makes a quality product but the impression I got when I first looked at this kitty is that you could use him on a TV show, movie or stellar play!This puppet is for me, a child at heart always, but I can imagine the wonder on an animal-loving kid’s face to see this puppet on someone’s lap helping out at a book reading, performing in a puppet play or snuggling up in their own little arms. That is how fantastically real, yet just ever so quirkily fantastical, this kitty cat puppet is!Also, if you have pets, be prepared for antics of some sort. My sweet doggie is a blind senior lady who paid this toy no mind, but we have a ragdoll mix that is literally the friendliest cat I’ve ever met. When I came into the bathroom where Inky was having din-din I had “Black Cat” on my arm and began to meow, popping open the puppet’s mouth and cocking its head quizzically. Inky looked up from her bowl and literally goggled the puppet. Then gingerly walked across the counter to check it out. I stayed a little away and kept meowing, did the little “lick my paw, wipe my face” grooming gesture and Inky gawked more and cocked her own head. Then I went around the corner, and at Inky’s eye level, played peek-a-boo. Inky would meow and peek and gently bat her paw back and forth with the puppet. Later she saw the puppet on the bed and made biscuits on the bed near it, which I imitated with the puppet and they both made biscuits in kitty-meditative silence for several minutes. It was the cutest thing, and I am curious to see how Inky reacts to the arrival of “Ragdoll” when the shipment arrives!Highly recommended, gorgeous, astoundingly-crafted puppet and fantastic price of 23.99 MSRP, and even less here on Amazon. I’ve paid twice as much for stuffies half as cool as “Black Cat” without batting an eye– and they weren’t even amazing interactive puppets like Black Cat is. I mean, if you get this, check out the face. The pattern is insane with tons of little pieces/parts I’ve never seen on a stuffed animal. But there they are and like magic they have been sewn together to really capture the blended essence of a realistic kitty + just the tiniest bit of whimsy kitty. It makes me think of Jim Henson puppets, the quality of the expressiveness and like another reviewer said, this kitty looks a lot like “Salem” from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. That assessment was spot-on! Black Cat really, reeeeally looks like “Salem”.Oh, and *my* Black Cat is henceforth to be known as “Jiji”, from “Kiki’s Delivery Service”. I don’t have it yet, but when this year’s holiday wrapping gets here I will save some satin ribbon to tie around his neck.    I bought this as a gift for a 3-year-old, along with a cute little story book about 5 black cats. This isn’t a little puppet, but just about the size of a real kitty, and so soft. High quality too. I’ve been buying puppets and books for gifts lately and this was a good purchase. Will buy again.

   I had a puppet performance and needed and emergency cat puppet Incase I didn’t have time to build one , so orders this on a panic whim.This was not only PERFECT for the performance, but my cat who doesn’t so well often with other animals or people actually loved this puppet so much he started grooming it ! It is SO soft and capable of so much movement , and expression!I have played with these puppets before and they are simply magical . This was a PUUUUUUUURFRCT first one , and I already have a list of others im dreaming of ordering from them going !

   I bought this for my 5 year old grandson, but fell in love with it myself and had a hard time parting with it. It appears so real just perched around the house—and even more so when animated as hand puppet. Grandson loves it. It is so soft and silky to pet.

   My now 6 year old and I got hooked on Folkmanis puppets at our local library. We were checking them out so often I decided to buy this for my daughter for Christmas. If you’re not familiar with Folkmanis puppets, they are really lifelike, great quality, and depending on the animal represented, very soft. They are the perfect size for little hands, and big hands too. My daughter can manipulate the puppets better than I’m able so I think they are a better fit for small hands. I have purchased a couple used, because they were a retired and not made anymore, but I’m glad Amazon is selling these ones at a good price so we can continue to add to our collection.

   Haven’t had the chance to play with it yet but as far as I can tell it’s very well made! And so soft!! Very excited to gift this to my little one!
