I purchased this little dragon as a decoration for my classroom. For my purposes, it is wonderful, and I love it. However, potential buyers should read on to see if this product meets your needs.I love the bright, vibrant colors, faux fur, and simulated jewels. The pictures on the product’s page are a fairly good representation. The dragon’s feet (claws) are some type of heavy, hard plastic. They help to give some weight to the puppet, which is good for balance. By rocking the plastic, “airplane” type control back and forth while pushing the puppet forward, one can make the Chinese dragon appear to “walk”or rather “march.” While walking / marching, the bells under his ears and tail jiggle–making a fun, festive sound. The dragon’s mouth is open, but it does NOT really open and close by a string pull like you might expect of a marionette. There is, indeed, a paper in his mouth that features some Chinese characters. I rather liked the look of this, so I left it intact rather than cutting it off.The puppet seems sturdy enough for gentle, creative play and decorating; however, I would not recommend it for young children due to the small parts and fragility of certain parts of the puppet.

beautiful design but the mouth does not open after it’s been closed

Also, nice looking, but same issue with gluing loose pieces back on.

Me and the kids have been enjoying this puppet. A lot, note , if the mouth isn’t moving sometimes you have to gently close it and use a bit of tape on the 3rd wire on the head so that the mouth moves up and down easier because it’s a little to long but having had puppets like this in the past that is a pretty common issue.

Saw a child with this chinese lion dragon marrionette at a Lunar New Year parade and was mesmerized by how beautiful they are and how they move. Happy I then was able to get one myself to keep. Fun to make him dance!
