My 4-year old son is obsessed with this cactus. He plays with it every single day and takes it everywhere. That being said, after just over one week of playing with it, part of the bottom that keeps the wiring covered broke (see first 3 pictures). I ended up using superglue to fix it and it was good as new.Just one month later, my son decided it was a good idea to throw the beloved cactus on the floor of his room (carpeted). The battery cover broke during this tantrum of strong will (see last picture). I have yet to attempt fixing this last break, so it’s been sitting on top of my fridge for the last week as I try to figure out a good solution. He’s not physically stronger than other 4-year olds. So if your kid likes throwing their toys on occasion, beware that the durability of this toy isn’t super great.Other cons:-it’s SO loud, especially with fresh batteries. Unfortunately, there’s no way to control the volume.-you have to be pretty close and/or loud in order for the cactus to mimic a sound. Sometimes, it will catch none or only part of what you want it to.Pros:-it has supplied hours on end of entertainment for my son-it’s a pretty good creative outlet. The sound mimic feature (he cactus mimics nearby sounds at a higher pitch) allows for a lot of creativity for the kid to make whatever sounds their dear little hearts desire (we’ve had everything from pterodactyl shrieks to storytelling to beatboxing)-has a bunch of short clips of popular songs pre-recorded that they can play on it-has a “record” button feature that you can use to record clips and play back the last recorded clip-it’s also pretty entertaining for adults as well. Everyone gets a big kick out of it and it’s fun to play with your child as well with this toy.For the price it’s a really good deal – but the durability isn’t great and it can be somewhat of a nuisance if you’re sensitive to noise.

My baby and 8 year old love it. Actually even the adults do! The songs that come preloaded arenβt great. The mimic and lights and dance are the only reason we got it. There is zero volume control on it. And itβs soooo loud!!! When my older child plays the songs I make sure itβs out of reach of my younger one, I donβt want it so loud in his face. Definitely need to look into adding this feature. Or at least tuning it down.

I bought this for my 2 year old grandson and he loved it for a while. The dancing is funny and the repeat makes it funnier, but it is hard to understand somewhat due to how fast it repeats.

There are a lot of songs loaded into the memory. Good for a fun gift for a child over 3 years of age or an adult. As a mom of grown children, I wouldn’t buy it for a child under 3 years of age (based on experience that it just makes noises, gyrates, lights up, and plays popular songs and, at best, it would entertain most babies for about 30 seconds and at worst it makes sudden, startling noises which some babies might find upsetting). I just got this for an adult friend, so I didn’t explore volume control (the default setting is fairly loud) and I can’t comment on durability. It gave everyone a good laugh and that was the point to the gift.

I purchased this for my 7 year old neice as a birthday gift. She loved it. It kept her entertained for awhile. The audio quality isn’t perfect but young children aren’t bothered by that. This not having volume control wasn’t too big of an issue, at least there’s an on/off switch.

Not only did I play with the ones I ordered for my great nephews, my 10 year old great niece also played with it until I had to wrap it on December 23rd. After Christmas I was missing it so I purchased one for myself and one for my niece for her birthday. There are so many songs and it’s so funny to hear what you say and how you say it being repeated by this cute little cactus. My cats even love it. Very durable.

So far the only thing is I can’t control the volume. Besides that it has some cute little tunes. More then I expected.

The kids loved it. It is obnoxious at a level I was NOT prepared for. But thatβs what earplugs are for. Their favorite part is seeing how loud they can get it to scream. Good luck all my fellow parents and guardians ?
